What I learned in today's session:
Learning Pathway: In my opinion, I feel as if the pathway page fits my career goals to a certain extent. I don't agree with everything one there like the language requirement, which is irrelevant to computer majors since they deal with computers and computer programs. It's not like we are going to come across a computer program that is in a language other than English, that is why I think it is completely irrelevant. Other than that, I think it is fine. I can't complain about the math requirements because it got knocked down by one semester, which I think is a very great idea since math is also irrelevant to computers. So whoever thought of that one is a genius. With the rest of the classes, I can't complain because I love computers and I get to take classes on what I like (computers, of course). The computer classes are very informative with great information to learn from. So with all of that being said then yeah, I think it works pretty okay.
ILP Individual Learning Portfolio: After viewing at least ten of the students' portfolios, the two I chose were by Lynette R. and Cynthia T. Both had very creative portfolios. Each one is unique in its own way, but I still cannot decide on which one I like better, but I do like both of the overall portfolios and the way they are set up. I like how the websites are set up organized yet informing at the same time as well. I learned that the total computer classes you take don't seem like they are a lot, until you list them all. I also learned that I took most of the classes at an earlier age. The outcomes are slightly different than the current outcomes that we have. But overall, the websites are very creative and user friendly while informing.
No matter what major, @ CSUMB you must take 4 levels of language. I know it sucks but that is the requirement.
